Meet Rob — Building Processes That Enable Growth

Meet Rob, our Strategy and Operations Manager, who has been instrumental in strengthening Riva's operational foundation over the past months.

He plays a vital role in running and scaling Riva's internal processes. He collaborates across multiple teams, from product and onboarding to customer success, to streamline workflows. His goal is to ensure every business joining Riva experiences clarity, efficiency, and speed from day one.

He is also involved in shaping Riva's operational blueprint for expansion into new markets, specifically mentioning Europe, North America, Africa, and Latin America.

We asked him a few quick questions to get to know Rob better, covering his work, motivation for joining Riva, and his interests outside of the office.

Why did you choose to join a start-up?

I wanted to be part of a fast-moving environment where decisions matter and the impact of my work is visible daily. I find the aspects of taking ownership, wearing multiple hats, and helping build something from the ground up to be exciting.

What makes the payments industry interesting to you?

The payments industry is undergoing a major transformation, with new technologies reshaping how money moves across borders. Companies like Riva are challenging slow-moving incumbents by making processes faster, clearer, and more cost-efficient. I find it unique to work in an industry where such significant change is happening in real-time.

What's your core focus at Riva?

My role is to help Riva scale efficiently while ensuring clients receive a seamless experience. This involves improving internal processes, supporting product development, and assisting in expanding Riva's footprint into new regions with the appropriate operational frameworks.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I love anything outdoors. I grew up in Cape Town, which offered easy access to mountains and oceans, opportunities I always tried to utilize. Additionally, I'm a big sports fan and enjoy traveling, discovering new places, and meeting new people.
