Riva is continuing to grow! We're delighted to welcome Surendra to the Riva team, joining us as we expand our engineering capabilities.

He brings strong expertise in building and scaling technology that powers global payments — experience that will be invaluable as we prepare for launch in September 2025.

But who is Surendra beyond the role?

We asked him three quick questions to help you get to know him better.

What trend in the payment space do you see having the biggest impact ahead?

The biggest shift ahead is the way new technologies are redefining cross-border payments, with stablecoins leading the charge. We've only seen the beginning of how they can transform speed, cost, and transparency in global money movement.

For me as an engineer, being able to start with a clean sheet of paper — as Riva has — is the ultimate dream, and the dual-rail approach makes Riva uniquely positioned to deliver something truly different in this space.

What made you excited to join Riva?

What drew me to Riva was the chance to work in a truly fast-moving environment where big ambitions quickly turn into real products.

The combination of an experienced team, a clear mission, and the opportunity to build payments infrastructure from the ground up made it an exciting place to contribute.

Outside your role at Riva, what keeps you curious?

Outside of work, I'm passionate about exploring history and uncovering the stories behind major world events. It gives me perspective and a deeper understanding of how we got to where we are today.
